Katie Jean Shinkle is the author of three novellas and five chapbooks, most recently Ruination (Spuyten Duyvil, 2018) and Rat Queen (Bloof Books, 2019). Other work can be found in or is forthcoming from Flaunt Magazine, The Georgia Review, Lambda Literary Review, Washington Square Review, Denver Quarterly, Fugue, Puerto del Sol, and elsewhere. She holds a Ph.D. in Creative Writing and Literature from the University of Denver, and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama. She is co-poetry editor of DIAGRAM, creative nonfiction editor of The Texas Review, and is an Assistant Professor at Sam Houston State University where she teaches in the MFA in Creative Writing, Editing, and Publishing.
